GOD IS GREAT AND MIGHTY! (9)

Memory Verse : “God’s way is perfect. The Lord’s word doesn’t have any flaws.” Psalm 18:30

Jonah and the Giant Fish • Jonah 1-3

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, but he refused and boarded a boat in the opposite direction. A big storm came, and Jonah knew God was after him. When thrown into the sea, God sent a big fish to swallow him. Jonah stayed inside the fish for 3 days and prayed. Then God made the fish spit him onto dry land. God told Jonah again to go to Nineveh, and this time he obeyed. Because Jonah follow God’s way, the people in Ninevah get to know about God’s word.

Questions

1. What did Jonah do instead of going to Nineveh?

“He went to the opposite direction to run away from Nineveh.”

2. What did he do while inside the big fish?

“He said sorry to God and wanted to obey Him to go to Nineveh.”

3. Was there a time when you did not do what your parents said?

Oftentimes we don’t want to follow God’s ways. We disobey our parents or are not willing to share toys with our friends or hit someone because the person makes you angry. If we don’t follow God’s ways, He will help us learn to know that His ways are perfect. God does that because He cares for us a lot.
