I CAN DO WHAT JESUS SAYS (1)

Memory Verse : Be kind and loving to each other.” Ephesians 4:32, NCV

Forgive One Another.

Jesus forgives Peter • Matthew 26:31-35, 69-75; John 21:15-17; Colossians 3:13

Jesus and Peter are great friends. One night, some angry soldiers take Jesus away and they hurt Him. All of Jesus’ friends are afraid and run away. Peter stays close to see what happens. When some people see Peter and ask if he is a friend with Jesus, Peter says no three times because he is afraid. But after that Peter feels very guilty and cries. When Jesus dies and comes back alive, He forgives Peter. He tells him to tell others that Jesus will also forgive them if they want to follow Him.

Questions

1. What does Peter say when the people ask if he is friend with Jesus?

Peter says that he does not know Jesus three times.

2. What does Jesus do when He comes back to see Peter again?

Jesus forgives Peter because He loves Peter.

3. Who are some friends that you want to forgive or say sorry to?

Jesus teaches us how to be kind and loving, to forgive others just as He has forgiven us. Some people may say bad things about us. Or that some may not want to share their toys with us to play. I’m sure you’ll get sad or angry. But we can do what Jesus says and shows His love to everyone everywhere! We can forgive them and tell them that Jesus loves them very much and wants to be their friend.
