Paul and Silas Are Thrown into Prison • Acts 16:16-40 

Paul and Silas were thrown in jail for telling people the good news about Jesus. But both of them chose joy and began singing! While they were singing, the ground began to shake. The doors to the jail flew wide open, but Paul and Silas stayed to tell the guard that Jesus loves him and wants to be his friend forever.

2. Why didn’t they run away when the jail door was opened?

 “They wanted to tell the guard that Jesus loves him. 

 

3. How can you choose joy if someone doesn’t want to hear the good news of Jesus from you?

God wants us to tell everyone that Jesus can be their friend forever. But some people may not like what we say. They may not want to play with us anymore. We may feel sad but we can still choose joy because Jesus is still our best friend. He can help this someone to know Him one day too. We can choose joy anywhere – at the playground, the school, a clinic or at the store. We can choose joy whether it’s a sunny day, a rainy day, in the morning or at night. We can have joy because Jesus our friend forever.
