Pray For One Another

Jesus Prays • John 17:1-26; 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Jesus’ friends follow Him everywhere He goes. He teaches them how to love everyone like Him. One day, Jesus prays to God. He prays for His friends. Jesus asks God to protect His friends and help them love like Him. Next, He prays for everyone in the town and all who will believe in Him. He prays that everyone will love each other too. Jesus lets his friends see Him pray because He wants to teach them how to pray just like Him.

1. What do Jesus’ friends see him do?

“They see Him praying to God for everyone.”

2. Why does Jesus want to show His friends how to pray?

“Jesus wants to teach his friends to love others by praying for them.”

3. Who are some friends that you want to pray for?

Jesus teaches us how to love like Him by praying for everyone. We can pray for our parents, our neighbours, our teachers the people who work in the supermarkets and those children who play in the playground. We can pray for God to protect them and to always give them joy. We can pray for God to show them how much God loves them. This is how we can love like Jesus.
