GOD LOVES ME (6)

Memory Verse – “A joyful heart is a good medicine.” Proverbs 17:22 ESV

I can have joy because God loves me.

Feast of Booths • Deuteronomy 16:13-17

Many of God’s people were farmers. They grew many different types of plants like wheat, barley, figs, grapes and olives. When the plants were ripe for harvest, the people celebrated because they knew that it was God who made all these plants grew and produced a great harvest. He gave the plants rain, the sun and good soil. God wanted the people to remember His blessings by taking time to celebrate.

Questions

1. Who made the plants grow to produce a harvest?

“God gave the plants rain, sun and good soil to grow.”

2. Why did God want His people to celebrate?

“He wanted the people to remember how He has helped them.”

3. How has God helped you today?

God has blessed us with many things. He gives us the rain for water to drink. He gives us the sun so that trees can grow to produce fruits to eat. He has also given us friends to love and play together with. He has given us air to breathe. We can thank God everyday by celebrating with praise songs to sing to Him. We can have joy because God has helped us.
