I can have joy because God loves me.

Story of the Lost Sheep • Luke 15:1-7

Jesus told a story about a 100 sheep. The shepherd takes good care of them. One day, he counted only 99 sheep – one of them was missing. So, he went out to look for it. He looked here and there until he found it. He was very happy and put it on his shoulder and carried it back. He loved his sheep very much and would keep every sheep close to him.

Questions

1. Why were there only 99 sheep?

“There was one sheep that went missing.”

2. Why did the shepherd go out to look for the missing sheep?

“The shepherd loved his sheep very much.”

3. How can you live for God everyday?

Jesus told this story to tell us how much He loves us. He wants to keep us close to Him so that He can take care of us. But sometimes we disobey our parents or make wrong choices because we want our ways. Still, Jesus will look for us and will teach us how to make right choices again. He loves us very much and does not want us to get lost. By this we can have joy all the time.
