I Can Thank God for Everything (2)

Memory Verse – “Always give thanks to God.” Ephesians 5:20

I can thank God for my friends.

David and Jonathan • 1 Samuel 18:1 – 4

There were two very good friends called David and Jonathan. They played, talked and did things together. They also cheered, helped and encouraged each other when either one of them was sad. Jonathan liked David so much that he gave his clothes, a sword, a bow and arrows to David. Their friendship was so closed because God brought them together.

1. What were some things that David and Jonathan did for each other?

“They played, helped, cheered and encouraged each other as friends.”

2. Why were David and Jonathan such good friends?

“They were friends because God brought them together.”

3. What would you like to do for your friends?

We have friends because God gives them to us. We have friends in childcare or kindergarten. We have friends who stay next door or in church. We can play together at the playground or learn new things in kindergarten. We share our toys so that everyone can play. We help and encourage each other when one of you is sad. God give us friends so that we won’t feel lonely. And best of all, Jesus is the best of all friends!
