Jesus can help me do everything (4)

Jesus can help me choose gentleness.

Jesus and the Little Children • Mark 10:13-16

Jesus was teaching a large group of people and everyone wanted to talk to Him. Parents brought their children along because they wanted their children to be close to Jesus. But when the children got closer to Jesus, the disciples told them to go away and not disturb Jesus. They were not being gentle to the children. But Jesus said to let the children come to Him. He hugged them and talked to them. Jesus was gentle to the children.

Discussion
Questions

1. What did the disciples do when the children approach Jesus?

“The disciples asked the children to go away and not disturb Jesus.”

2. How was Jesus being gentle to the children?

“Jesus hugged the children and talked with them.”

3. How can you be gentle while you are at home?

If you want to play a toy with your friends, don’t snatch it from them. That’s not gentle. Instead, you can ask gently if you can play with them. Or when you want to change to other toys to play, you don’t have to shout or force everyone to play with you. Instead, you can gently ask if anyone wants to play a different toy with you. You can be gentle to a baby. Even when you are angry, you don’t have to use angry words that will hurt other people’s feelings. Jesus can help us to be gentle.
