JESUS GIVES US JOY (2)

Memory Verse – “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Luke 2:10, ESV

I can help my friends have joy.

Be Joyful with Others • Romans 12:15

Long ago there was a man called Paul. He loved God and taught people that Jesus loved them and will give them joy. It wasn’t easy for him because many people who didn’t believe in Jesus would hurt him and put him in prison. But Paul knew how to have joy in everything because Jesus gave him joy. So he continued to tell everyone that they could have joy from God.

Questions

1. What did the people do to him because he believed in Jesus?

“The people hurt him and threw him into a prison.”

2. How could Paul still have joy?

“He knew that Jesus could give him joy in all things.”

3. Can you tell Jesus the things that make you sad?

Jesus gives us joy. We can help others to have joy too. Maybe your friends are feeling sad because their toys broke. You can share your toys with them. Maybe they are feeling sad because they are lonely. You can sit with them. Maybe they are feeling sad because their parents are sick. You can help them write a get-well card to encourage their parents. When we love like Jesus, we can help others have joy.
