God knows what’s best for me (3)

Jonah • Jonah 1:1–3:10

God told Jonah to tell the people in Nineveh that they were doing bad things, and that they should follow God’s way. Jonah had a choice to obey but he ran away instead on a ship. So God sent a big storm to rock the boat. Jonah knew that God was after him and the other people on the boat threw Jonah into the sea. Then God sent a big fish to swallow him up. He was safe inside the fish’s belly. After 3 days Jonah was sorry for disobeying God. So God made the fish to spit him out. This time Jonah chose to go to Nineveh and told the people about God. Because of this, the people believed in God. God knew what was best for Jonah.

3.  Are there times where you didn’t do what God said?

God knows what’s best for us. When He asks us to do certain things, He knows that good things will follow if we do what He says. Sometimes we may not like what God wants us to do. For example, when your parents ask you to stop playing and go to bed at night, you have a choice to obey or keep on playing. If you keep on playing, you may not have enough sleep and will wake up very tired. So God knows what is best for you. If you choose to obey your parents, you will have enough sleep.
