Jesus Loves Everyone (3)

Memory Verse“Be kind and loving to each other.” Ephesians 4:32

Jesus loves us even when we do something wrong.

Zacchaeus • Luke 19:1-10

Zacchaeus’ job was to collect money from everyone in town. No one liked him because he took more than he should, which was wrong. So he has no friends. One day Jesus came to his town and everyone was excited. Because Zacchaeus was a short man, he couldn’t see Jesus in the crowd. So he climbed up a tree to see. When Jesus saw him, He asked Zacchaeus to come down because He wanted to go to Zacchaeus’ house for dinner. Zacchaeus was surprised that Jesus wanted to go to his house because he made bad choices. But Jesus loves everyone including Zacchaeus and wanted to be his friend.

Questions

1. What did Zacchaeus do to see Jesus?

“He climbed up a tree to see Jesus because he was a short man.”

2. Why did Jesus want to go to Zacchaeus’ house for dinner?

“Jesus loved Zacchaeus and wanted to be his friend.”

3. Is there something that makes you feel that no one wants to be your friend?

Apart from making bad choices, Zacchaeus might feel that the people do not want to be his friend because he is short. He thinks people might make fun of him too. Sometimes we feel that no one wants to be our friend because we’re short, ugly or not smart enough. But Jesus loves us just as who we are. He wants to be our friend no matter what. We don’t have to feel lousy about ourselves because He cares for us.
